Fly-in Cinema 2025

Beste deelnemer,
Na onze vorige mail hebben wij veel afzeggingen ontvangen met als voornaamste reden de weersverwachtingen voor het komend weekend.
Na overleg met de Gemeente Texel, de Meteo en Outdoor Cinema hebben wij als organisatie besloten de Cinema Fly-in van 24 mei 2025 te annuleren. De combinatie van (flinke) perioden met regen en de harde wind zijn funest voor dit unieke evenement. De veiligheid van de deelnemers staat bij ons voorop, niet alleen tijdens de fly-in, maar ook tijdens de aankomst- en vertrekdag. Daarnaast heeft scherm van Outdoor Cinema ook een windlimiet.
Wij rekenen op begrip voor deze moeilijke beslissing. Samen met Outdoor Cinema, de Gemeente Texel en Restaurant Kooger kijken we of we de Cinema Fly-in later dit jaar nog organiseren. Hierover zullen wij u op korte termijn informeren.

Dear participant,
After our previous email, we have received many cancellations, mainly due to the weather forecast for this weekend.
After consultation with the Municipality of Texel, the Meteo and Outdoor Cinema, we have decided to cancel the Cinema Fly-in of May 24, 2025. The combination of (large) periods of rain and strong wind are disastrous for this unique event. The safety of the participants is our top priority, not only during the fly-in, but also during the arrival and departure day. In addition, the Outdoor Cinema screen also has a wind limit.
We count on your understanding for this difficult decision. Together with Outdoor Cinema, the Municipality of Texel and Restaurant Kooger, we will see whether we can still organize the Cinema Fly-in later this year. We will inform you about this shortly.

Fly-in Cinema 2025 – CANCELLED
Watch Saturday the 24th of May 2025 the movie “Flyboys” out of your plane. After the movie you can ‘camp under the wing’.

Movie: “Flyboys” (after 22.00 local time)
Tickets: € 15,00 per person (pay at the desk of Outdoor Cinema)
Landing fees: € 35,00 per aircraft
Camping: € 12,50 per person per night (including mobile showers and mobile toilet unit)
Parking near the screen for the movie: € 25,00 per aircraft
Restaurant Kooger (Airportrestaurant)
Breakfast buffet: € 12,50 per person (from 08.00 hrs)
Dinner Friday: Dinner à la carte until 20.00 hrs.
Dinner Saturday: € 17,50 American Style Hamburger with frites (via Restaurant Kooger) until 20.00 hrs.

Flying procedures
During the fly-in on Saturday the following “fly-in” procedures are active:
- Runway 21 LH : all traffic via reporting point A, outside the coast to point E for a straight in.
- Runway 03 RH : all traffic via reporting points A and B for a direct right hand base leg.
- Runway 30/12: normal circuit at 1.000 ft.

Please
* Maintain a minimum altitude of 1.500 feet over the island
* Avoid nature reserves and populated areas as much as possible.
* Be carefull if taxiing in high grass outside the taxiways.
* No walking on taxiways.
* Be aware departures on Sunday from 10.00 local time.
Camping rules
– No waist at the airfield
– No noise during night hours
– Be careful in the dark around parked airplanes
– Smoking and open fire are not allowed
